This summer course is my first for the Field Studies Council at their beautifully situated residential centre in Slapton Ley. The workshop will run from Monday 26th - Friday 30th July and students should be able to complete several pieces of work. Using ink drawing pens and artist-quality coloured pencils, you can enjoy interpreting landscapes based on the local shore and its summer flora.
The techniques for ink and coloured pencil can be acquired quickly and are easy to manage. You will learn to integrate the two media as you work, building up layers of rich colour and mark-making. There will be demonstrations and one-to-one help, with encouragement to work in your own style, using your chosen images or nature itself. There are techniques but no rules, so your work may surprise you with its individuality!
